Three games that explain the difference between winning and covering
Southern Miss at Troy: correct winner, losing Under
Troy won 55–34. The saved winner forecast named Troy, while the saved total was Under 51.5. The teams scored 89 combined points, so that total selection lost. A correct winner forecast does not change the total result.
Jacksonville State at Kennesaw State: the losing team covers
Jacksonville State won 27–26. The saved spread selection was Kennesaw State +3.0. Adding those three points gives Kennesaw State 29 for spread grading, compared with Jacksonville State’s 27, so the spread selection won even though Kennesaw State lost the game.
Washington State at Utah State: a one-point win is not a cover
Utah State won 17–16. The saved winner forecast named Utah State, but the saved Utah State −4.0 spread lost: its one-point victory was smaller than the four-point handicap.
These selections were stored before kickoff. They are examples from the saved-pick archive, not a claim that every archived selection qualified under today’s recommendation rules. The board separately identifies qualified plays and other saved selections. Do not combine those records.
What to check before next week’s games
Start with the current college matchups and verify the game date, status and available market line. Keep the outright winner probability separate from the spread-cover or total probability. A bigger team-win percentage alone does not establish a valuable bet.
Use the college prediction guide to understand opponent-adjusted ratings and early-season uncertainty. Review spread, total and push grading before evaluating a record. Count pushes separately and compare several completed weeks rather than only successful examples.
